NovaLink — verified volunteer service hours for FCPS students

NovaLink is a free platform that connects Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) high school students in Northern Virginia with local nonprofits and community organizations offering volunteer service opportunities. Students discover service near their school, apply in a tap, and build a record of hours verified by the organization that hosted them. Organizations post opportunities, review applicants, and confirm attendance so the hours students report are trustworthy for school and scholarship requirements.

For students

• Apply in a tap. Register for events and manage every commitment in one place.
• Track verified hours. Hours confirmed by the hosting organization build a portfolio for college applications and scholarships.

For organizations

• Post opportunities. List one-time or recurring events with dates, roles, and volunteer limits.
• Review applicants. See a student’s volunteer history before you accept them.
• Verify hours. Confirm attendance and the hours sync straight to the student’s record.

How it works

An organization publishes an opportunity with a date, time, location, category, and number of volunteer spots. Students browse and apply; the organization accepts or declines. After the event the student submits their hours and the organization verifies them, and those verified hours count toward the student’s yearly service goal.
